Ingredients:
- Carriage House Farms Heritage Turkey
- Optional: Stuffing
- Himalayan Salt
- Other spices as desired
Preparation:
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.
Bake tented at 425 degrees for 20 minutes, then drop oven temperature to 325 for the remainder of the cooking time.
For an un-stuffed turkey roasting time is 8-10 minutes per pound.
For a stuffed turkey, roasting time is 12-15 minutes per pound.
Roasting times very due to differences in your oven.
Using an oven probe, this free range Heritage Turkey was baked at 325 degrees until the internal breast temperature reached 185 degrees.
Please check your bird sooner rather than later. Experience shows that Heritage turkeys cook faster than the average store-bought turkey. More time can always be added, but an over-cooked bird cannot be un-cooked.
